Three soldiers and two civilians were wounded in a shooting yesterday afternoon in Pattani’s Khok Pho district.
The five men were travelling in a van belonging to the Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Front ’s public relations team in tambon Plong Hoi when the unknown gunmen opened fire with war weapons at about 3.30pm.
The injured men – identified as Major Chalaem Somthanonthi, Master Sergeant First Class Kittiwat Semkhong, Master Sergeant First Class Nurat Phetchmanee, Abadi Yasem and Polsak Chankhum – were taken to Khok Pho Hospital and subsequently transferred to Pattani Hospital.
